"Hi, I'm Dr. Michael Walker from Hill Country Facial Plastic Surgery Center and on behalf of Expert Village we'll be talking about face lifts and neck lifts today. Other possible complications are of course bruising and swelling which are typical. The bruising can last sometimes ten days to two weeks if the patient bruise easily. The swelling usually subsides seventy-five percent within a week or ten days. Other things at risk in a face lift are nerves. They go to muscles in the face, typically around the mouth, the nose and the eyelid. If those nerves are damaged, they be can be weak sometimes for several days even several weeks or up to several months. Rarely can a nerve can be cut will lead to permanent facial paralysis. Areas of numbness are not uncommon either around the earlobes or behind the ear."
