"Hi, I'm Dr. Michael Walker from Hill Country Facial Plastic Surgery Center and on behalf of Expert Village we'll be talking about face lifts and neck lifts today. What might the complications be? Well, as with any surgery a face lift can have a bleeding problem under the skin which is called a hematoma. And the hematoma will cause a swelling on one side of the face, and that can run the risk of infection. So, one gets a hematoma they need to be drained within a day or two of surgery. That can sometimes be done just with a needle and a syringe. But, occasionally a stitch has to be removed to squeeze out the blood clot under the skin so that it doesn't get infected. So that it doesn't fibrosis and form a hard knot."
