So next we're going to get to our blending tool and obviously your pencil is a very sharp hard line and if you want to soften your lines you get into the blending. You just take your blending tool and take it to the side and really just blend your lines so it looks more natural. Because obviously shadows don't have hard lines they're soft and especially if you're working on something round like a fruit. Your shadows are going to be even softer if you are drawing something that is square or rectangle then you might have a hard line for a shadow but certainly not our persimmons. So we're doing a little blending also don't forget your shadow on the ground. So if you blend away to much of your dark lines you can always go back over and into it and make it a little darker but you see how that is smooth out and it just looks like a little bit more natural or realistic. And of course we need some highlights which we're going to get into next but this is roughly how you start blending. So basically we're going to use our blending tool and we're going to start blending the hard lines of the pencil here because shadows especially on a piece of round fruit are not going to have hard edges. This is a great tool to use as you can see you can get all these different tones here as oppose as just to the lines and it's starting to look a little bit more natural. Then of course you want to get your shadows on the table here and this is also starting to look a little bit more uniform in color and a little less scribbly. So we'll do a little bit on the leaf on here and it's starting to look nice, soft and round and of course we need some highlights to make it pop out. If you decided that you need to go back in and we rubbed away a lot of this dark shadow down here you can always go back in and just go over it and make it darker. Blend again keep blending the more you blend the really nicer it's going to look.
