"There is a lot of different kinds of pencils and again, this is something you want to experiment with because the personal preference. You have hard pencils which give you a harder line, a finer line and those are marked at the end you're not going to be able to see it, it's very small. But they have an H on the end. Then your softer pencils will have a B on the end. Those are going to give you a softer wider line and you can smudge those pencils a little bit more. Where as to the hard pencils, you can't really smudge them, they're very the lead is very stiff and very hard lines. Those are some things you want to play around with; there are so many different kinds. I would suggest to go to your local art store again and go down there usually you can play with them. They have like a piece of paper something and you can just go and test them out and sort of see what you like. You can also get into colored pencils which is definitely a lot more involved so I'm going to start with the regular graphite pencils and you can experiment from there."
