"This horse head will have no model. Then, that's want I want to teach you, or to show you. If you have, for example, a book with a profile and a front of the object that you want to reproduce in clay, that's fine. I use this book in order to make two photocopies, and then I enlarge, that the front and the profile, they will match, more or less, in size. Then what I'm going to do, is to cut off the face of the head and the face of the horse in order to make two layouts. And then, we are going to compare, and to put it on top of the clay, we're going to reshape. That's what I'm going to start doing now. I'm going to cut these out in order to make a layout that later we are going to use it against the clay. Then we have the proportions necessary in order to use when you have not much idea about the proportions as the best way to do it. If you have a model, that's fantastic! Normally, we don't have model. Then this is not an obstacle in order to make a nice design or a nice sculpture. With only one image, you can do it. Now we have the front and the profile."
