"Hi my name is Teri Lynne and I'm here on behalf of Expert Village. In this segment we're going to be doing how to put hair gel in. So you're going to grab your basic hair gel or your favorite type of hair gel. I just use a volumizing weightless one, that way it's nice and light, it's not too crunchy, but this will, just so you know, gel will give your hair a little bit of a crunch. It will make it a little bit harder, so it's not a natural look. It's really good if you have a lot of wave or curl to your hair. If you have really dead straight hair as a male, I don't recommend using gel; I recommend maybe a mousse instead. So you take a dime or a quarter size amounts, depending on how much hair you have. David has quite a bit of hair; his hair is fairly long, so I used a quarter size amounts. You're just going to work it into your hands. And he's just going to tip his head upside down. And what you're going to do is you're going to work it from the roots out, and again, because you want the most body out of it, so you always want to put the product in your roots and then work it to the tips. You don't want to start at the tips because you don't want it too crunchy on the ends, because you do want still a bit of a natural look even though you're using product. You don't want it to look too crunchy. So you work it right in, work it through really well so it's in as much as your hair as possible. And then he's going to tip his head back up and then again you're going to part it the way you like to part your hair, and I don't use any brush or pick or comb for this. I just use my hands, and I use the hands to smooth it because I think it has a much more natural look. A lot of times when your hair's damp or wet like this is, and you start using a brush, and you get those perfect brush lines which I don't really think is a nice look. And this will just keep his hair full of body all day. It is nice and a little bit damp. Let it stay damp and it will just dry like this. That's how you put gel in your hair."
