"Hi my name is Terri Lynn and I'm here on behalf of Expert Village. And in this segment I am going to show you how to do a formal French twist. See if you've got a place where you have to do an up do, a formal event this is a really nice hairdo that you might want to do. I have already prewet the hair a little bit so it's nice and damp. It should be a little easier for putting up. I'm going to gather the hair in the back and low, and we're just going to start twisting. When you've got a nice twist going, when it's twisted almost as much as you can twist the hair, you're going to go ahead and twist it up. And keep twisting. Now we're going to start pinning. The only thing that really holds a French twist up is bobby pins, or barrettes. Your choice. I like bobby pins because they blend into the hair better. So you want to just starting at the top. And I like to criss cross the pins. When you get to the twist part what you want to do is you want to roll this extra hair over the twist and tuck the bobby pin in. Then again with the hair at the top, you can play with that a little bit. Pieces that are kind of hanging that you think will fall throughout the evening or day take a couple more bobby pins, tuck them under. You want to show that twist showing at the bottom. Again I'm would say you're going to need at least six to eight bobby pins especially if your hair is thick. If it's thinner you can probably get away with six bobby pins. And there you have your formal French twist and you can use some hairspray if you'd like to hold the look."
