"Hi my name is Terri Lynn and I am here on behalf of Expert Village. In this segment I am going to show you how to do a basic bun. You are going to start with nice combed hair, dry preferably or slightly damp. Because we are going to be working with a lot of hair. I am going to dampen it with just a little water and a little bit of hair spray just to keep the pieces together. You can use just water it is up to you. I am going to start by pulling all the hair together. You can choose, a lot of people like a higher up bun, but we are going to do just a lower bun it's a little more elegant. If you've got shorter hair you'll probably have to go for a higher look, so you'll have to gather the hair a lot higher, or gathering it maybe around the neck. I am going to start twisting your hair once you have it together. And once it's twisted you just start twisting it up. Keep twisting, make sure your hair is nice and tight, and as your starting to twist it around in a circle is when you want to start bobby pinning. The bobby pins will just hold the bun to your head and you want to make them as inconspicuous as possible so really try to tuck them in really good. Make sure it's really grabbing at the hair though, because if you have a lot of hair you're going to have a heavy bun, so you need at least five to six of these bobby pins. And we are going to keep twisting and twisting and tuck the last bit in. This is great if you have really long hair and you want to tuck it out of your way. Again you want to make sure all these pieces are tucked into that sticking out. And sometimes you have little pieces hanging out and it’s really up to you if you want to keep them. Sometimes they’re cute to just have out. I liked to just wet them, and mold them to the shape of the bun. And again you can leave just a few of these pieces hanging out. And that is your basic bun. Again if you want to pin these pieces back you can, or you can just leave them hanging down like that. That’s how you do a basic bun, and if you want to watch more of my up-dos check out some more of my segments on Expert Village."
