"On behalf of Expert Village my name is Lizbeth Muller from Liz's Hair Design in Hollywood, Florida, and today we're going to show you how to straighten out curly hair. When you start on a head of hair like this and you're not sure what heat to use, you might want to test a little bit on your towel. If you're using this kind of old flat iron, you want to test it on your towel. Make sure it's not too hot for a head. A lot of people don't have the tools and they don't know. Just gradually put on like this and go down the head like that to straighten out the hair with this kind of iron. You test it out first so that way you don't burn anybody. Make sure that the heat is enough and that you're not hurting anyone. Always test it. Slightly on the hair again and just go straight down. There's a straight piece. We're going to take a smaller section now and go with the other smaller iron that I have. I'm just going to take a section that's very small. Take a piece about like that. About this size here. Go to the scalp, as close as you can get to the scalp, and put a little bit of heat on there. Don't press so hard, and go straight down."
