"Hi, I'm Amelia and on behalf of Expert Village, I'll be talking to you about understanding the laws of hair color. Now that we've covered all of that, let's talk about selecting the desired color. So first we want to figure out where you want to be. Let's say you want to be a medium warm, level eight. Step one, where are you now? That's where you want to be, so where are you now? If you're a level six you have to figure out your undertone and again the undertone is what I was talking about over here. What's underneath that color. So, what's hidden underneath that color? An orange. Okay, so an orange is warm, so what could you do? Well, depending on how warm you want to be, you could go into the gold category and you could put more of a, you would definitely choose a level eight color. So wherever you would go, if you would go to the grocery store, or if you would go to the beauty supply store, you would buy a, purchase a level eight, and you could go with a gold red. That would be very warm. If you wanted to be a little bit less warm, then you would go to the cooler side. A little bit more of the beiges, or the neutrals, or the ashes, or the violets. Any of those would neutralize that warmth. If you wanted to be on the cool side then you would want to choose an ash color, from this side. So if you started out, your desired color was a level eight, you're currently at a level six. The remaining color at a level six is an orange. You want to be medium gold level eight. So you would find a level eight color, and I would put a gold beige on. Because that beige color is going to help counteract some of that orange. What would happen if you would put just a straight orange on? You would be very very orange. And what would happen if you put just a straight ash on? You would be more neutral. So you'd want to choose something a little bit more in between. Now in the box color categories, the swatches that they have underneath the boxes are very important. Make sure that you look at that and really figure out, now remember, it's on synthetic hair, so it's going to be shiny like this. But make sure if that's really what you want to see in your hair. Another thing that you're going to want to do is turn the box over and on the back of the box you'll see this, where you've got dark brown, blonde, or medium blonde, or whatever. And it would show your current hair color and then your results. So you're going to want to make sure that you study this. Another thing you're going to not want to pay attention to is the model on the front, or the name. The only thing that you're going to want to look at as far as the name goes is if underneath, and sometimes next to the swatch they'll have this, it'll say like 8R or 8G. G is going to be more for gold, R is going to be for red. 8N, that's going to be your neutral. So if you have a lot of grey in your hair, you could choose that. And the 8G is going to be gold. And the 8R is going to be red. If you don't want any red in your hair you're not going to want to choose that one. An 8A will be more for ash. So you're not going to want to pay attention to the medium gold, warm brown, sunset sienna, whatever color is it, because they're trying to market that. What you're going to want to look at is the base. What's the base color? The base of the color is going to tell you what you're going to end up with. So step one, choose where you want to go. Step two, figure out where you are. Step three, figure out your undertone, and put all of that information together and you'll get your desired color. "
