Summary: Learn how to be a good host for a New Year's Eve party from an event planning expert in this event planning video.
"Three, two one. Happy New Year. On behalf of Expert Village, my name's Matt Cail and I'm going to show you how to throw a New Year's Eve party. As the host to your party you have some social responsibilities. You need to make sure people are having a good time. You need to go from point A, to point B, to point C. Now, to do this you should also be very recognizable. If you're having any little bit, of like, wildness or like kind of crazy fun in your party, consider wearing an equally crazy shirt. People will know who you are because odds are you'll be one of the crazier dressed people. You can wear sunglasses inside, get a black hat, get a little walking stick, you know dance around a little bit with it, something like that. You'll basically be known as the host even if you have 50 or 100 people at your party, people will know, they'll know who you are, they will also know if there are any problems or concerns who to go to. Usually that's a good thing, even if it kind of scares you, about hearing about peoples griping all night long. That's part of hosting sometimes, depending on the mix of people that you have at your party. You can also encourage your guests to also dress up a little wild. I've seen people even have a couple of little wild shirts on hand so they can even give those to guests, if they're maybe looking for something more crazy for their New Year's Eve. So definitely, be gregarious, go around make sure people are doing okay, make sure everyone's having a good time, if the music's too loud, turn it down. These are the types of things you get if you go around and you really just try to keep a pulse on your party. It's kind of a living, growing thing, it's not static, and just make sure you have a good time talking to people, and a very, very safe and fun New Year's Eve."
