"3, 2, 1, Happy New Year! On behalf of Expert Village, my name is Matt Cail and I'm going to show you how to throw a New Years Eve party. Because of the odd timing of New Years Eve and it's close proximity to Christmas, this creates some problems. Most people are not going to be talking about New Years Eve until after Christmas has passed. Normally, it's good to send out invitations about 3-4 weeks in advance at least before your party. New Years Eve is an exception. What I recommend doing is throughout the month of December, start talking to some potential party guests and say hey dude I'm going to be having a New Years party this year, why don't you come on over. That's fine to have it kind of be more an unofficial word of mouth. You can still send out some type of invitation, either it be the old paper invitations or electronic invitations. You need to get these out right away after Christmas. If you're going to use the old snail mail postal service, you may send invitations on say like December 23rd or 24th, because people will probably get them on the 26th or 27th, which gives you about 4-5 solid days before you New Years party."
