"3, 2, 1, Happy New Year! On behalf of Expert Village, my name is Matt Cail and I'm going to show you how to throw a New Years Eve party. Throwing a New Years party presents some interesting opportunities and challenges when it comes to the calendar. A lot of other parties like Halloween in the like, people will actually rewind a bit to the previous weekend to make sure that people can actually stay up past their normal bedtimes and come up to the party. New Years parties you don't have this as much because almost everyone, not everyone, but almost everyone has New Years Day off. For your December 31st gathering, it doesn't matter what day of the week it's on because most people expect to stay up to midnight to welcome in the new year and they don't have to get up at 6 AM the next morning, at least not the lucky ones. It's still important to start looking exactly what day of the week New Years falls on, New Years Eve specifically. This is kind of a weird day because it's the last day of the year. Your calendar, one of the last things you're going to use it for is to map out exactly what day of the week you're going to have your New Years party. The other thing to keep in mind is that people will kind of zone out on New Years until about December 26th because that's when Christmas is finally over with."
