Step 1
Find the electronic you want and then plug in the companies' name into the internet. Once on the company home page, check to see what the cost is, if there's shipping and handling charges, rebates on the brand new item that you are trying to purchase and look for a list of stores that the company home page list that stock its' product.
-
Step 2
To get the best price on an electronic, after you have gone to a store referred by the homepage, you now want to see if this store' s site has the product for the same or discounted price. Generally, the price should be the same or no more than an extra $10.00.
-
Step 3
Go to all of the sites refereed, use the same tactics of investigating of any discounts, rebates... make your choice and if you want the product immediately, go pick it up. Some stores will put order on hold over the phone and then allow you to pick it up later in the day. This good be a good way to secure an item that could be on sale and especially if the store does not have a great stock of a color of the item or just a big stock of it. If you can wait a few days for delivery and the price is the same, get it from the company direct. This will come in handy if you have any problems in the future with the product if it needs maintenance.
-
Step 4
If you purchase your electronic from a store that has a competitor and before 30 days is up you find the same product cheaper, don't be afraid to talk to management of the store you purchased from about getting reimbursed the difference. The is an unwritten code of ethics that in many cases the store will compensate you for having paid a higher price.
