" Hi! This is Zak with Expert Village, and today I’m going to talk to you about what you should do if your printer is printing a little smudgy. Most printers have a built in menu system that will allow you to perform various tasks including printer maintenance. On ours there’s an option here for maintenance and settings, so we’re going to select that and then select maintenance from the next screen. There are a number of different options; nozzle check, cleaning, deep cleaning and alignments and things like that. For smudgy printing, most often you just need to clean your nozzle heads. A basic cleaning is usually good, even though this one includes a deep cleaning option, which is probably a more extensive method that takes longer and should really be used if a regular cleaning method doesn’t work first. Some printers also include software for your computer that allows you to tell the printer to clean from there."
