"Hi! This is Zach with Expert Village and today I am going to talk to you about naming your external storage device. Naming your external storage devices are rather important especially if you plan on sharing your information over a network. Naming your external drive allows people on your network to know exactly what they are looking for on your network when they are trying to find your computer and it helps to keep track of your data. It is also good if you are using multiple devices of the same type; multiple external storage drives for example and naming them helps you to remember what is on each one so that you don't have to keep searching through each one and looking for what you need to find. To rename a drive and finder you can control click the devices icon and select get info from the context menu. There is a section entitled name and extension allows you to rename your drive here. You can also rename your drive by clicking it once and finder to select it and clicking the name again. This allows you to edit the name right there in finder. "
