"Hi! This is Zach with Expert Village and today we are going to talk about accessing a network drive from your computer. On the host machine, the first thing you would want to do is find your IP address. This is the address that other computers on the network will use to connect to your machine and access your shared content. So what you would do in finder, go to your system preferences and click on the network icon and configure your active Internet connection. The tab you would want to select is TCPIP and the field is IP address. This tells you how other computers can reach your computer on the network. So make sure to write down the IP address of the host machine so that you can use it later when we go to our client machines and have them connect to this machine. "
