"This is Zach with Expert Village and today we are going to talk about trouble shooting your hard drive if you got an external storage device connected and it's not showing up on your desk top. First thing you want is to always make sure that everything is properly connected. You don't want to call a technician out to your house for $30, $40 or $50 just to tell you that your hard drive wasn't plugged in. We are going to look back here and it looks like our USB cables are connected okay but our power cable is not. So simply plug your power cable into your hard drive and if it is still not showing up on your computer, make sure the power switch is on the on position and you will know when it is on because you will see a light on the front of your hard drive.
