"Hi! This is Zach with Expert Village and we are going to talk about assembling your own external storage device today. A good reason for assembling your own is it is more cost effective than purchasing a whole external solution and it can help you if you've got an extra hard drive that is an internal one. Just buying the casing is a much more affordable solution. So we are gong to go over assembling it. You will need casing that is compatible with your hard drive so make sure that the connector on your hard drive matches the kind that you got for your casing. As well, you want to make sure what you buy is in the way of casing is compatible with your hardware on your computer. This is the USB external casing which can be used for just about any modern computer. So what you want to do in most cases, is it will be a simple slide in kind of connection so that all you have to do is take your hard drive and slide it into the connector. "
