" Hi! I’m Mike with expertvillage.com, today I’m going to be talking about how to share files from a PC to another PC. The first thing we want to do is check the settings on both of our PC’s. What you want to do is right click on the my computer icon. You can do that a couple of ways. If it’s on the desktop you can do it there or hit the start menu and right click on my computer from there. Either way works. Once you go right click on it you need to go down to properties. This will bring up the system properties box for your entire computer. You need to click on what’s labeled as computer name. In there, you’ll see two things that say full computer name and workgroup. What you want to do is make sure that your workgroup is the same between both systems. The full computer name needs to be different between both of your systems or if you have two or three. You can pick computer one, computer two or you can give them names like Spongebob and Patrick, whatever strikes your fancy. Your workgroup could be Under the Sea or something as simple as Workgroup or Home. To change those all you have to do is click the change button. Once you changed them window is going to make you restart so just be expecting that. Check both of your systems to make sure that you got the same workgroup and then we’ll go onto part two."
