"Hi, I'm Mike Purdy for Expert Village and we are doing video editing with Sony Vegas. So far we have a little short video clip you can see how short it actually is by looking at the time line up here. It goes to zero to 6 seconds for me it's handy to hit the space key to start play and hit again to stop the play, start it, stop it, start it, stop it. That's something that can be setup in preferences and if you prefer to use the space bar to be start and stop which is right here. Make space bar and F12 play/pause instead of play stop, what else do we want to do with this video? We might want to add a title to it, it's very easy to add a title to this video; first we right click anywhere in the blank space here. We can't do it on the actual video it has to be in a blank space either on an audio or video track, right click and it will allow you to insert another video track. Or if it's an audio track it will allow you to insert another audio track here is how we add a title, right click and insert text media. When you insert text media you'll notice the text media box pops up here where ever the cursor happens to be. So that's something that can be a little confusing if your cursor happens to be somewhere else in the project this is going to wind up else where in the project. So we can take sample text, we highlight this, we can replace the sample text with whatever we like to say, Sony and then enter, Vegas now we'll be able to see that if we come over here. We see Sony Vegas very large and you'll notice that this is a little broken up looking that's to make the computer run faster in draft mode. The computer doesn't make processing power in draft mode so if you wanted to see it a little more clearly you can always put it into best mode and put it into preview mode. But this will run a little bit slower so I usually keep it in draft mode a lot of the time."
