"Hi Mike Purdy for Expert Village and today we're talking about editing video with vegas. Now that we have the lay of the land let's bring some video's into edit. Here's how we capture you go to file, capture video, and you'll get the sony video capture device, when you plug your camera in ideally it will automatically bring it up if this is assuming that you have it all set up. In this case you'll be coming from a DVD player because that's where I mastered my video's we're ready to capture video so you get the video to where you needed to be, simple hit capture and it will capture the video and the audio and give us something to work with. Now as that capturing you'll notice that we have a window down here it shows some previous clips that I've captured and it will save these until you delete them. Hitting stop will stop the capture of the video and then if you right click on the video's that you want to add to your project you can hold down your control key, select each one that you want to add to your project and then right click, add to media pull then when you close this, file, exit, you'll see that in the media pull and there's a tab down here for media pull, that is the media that is being used in this particular project right now. Now to add media from the media pull up to your current project all you need to do is click and drag, now what this will do is put that on the timeline and it will open up a video and audio track."
