"Mike Purdy here for Expert Village. Just quickly, we're going to get into layers here. We're not going to get into this in any detail. But, let's say we have an image that we want to adjust. Okay? Now, one way to do it is just by going to colors and adjust. But, another way is to do layers. Okay. And, the best way I can explain layers is if you took a sheet of yellow transparent plastic and laid it over the top of this, it would make the whole thing yellow, right? That's kind of what layers does. We can take a, and add a new adjustment layer. Let's call it color downs. Okay? Now, we can crank up the green, alright? And then, when we put the eye here, we see the result of that. This is as if we had laid a piece of green plastic over the top of the image. We could crank up the blue and do the same thing. Okay? Click on okay. And, we have made that adjustment, that color adjustment, to this. And, we can take another layer, add another layer, brightness and contrast on top of that. And, we can change the contrast. We can bump the contrast up. See. So, it's much more powerful than just laying colored plastic over an image. Another thing you can do with layers is you could take another, you could take another image, okay? Edit. Copy. Okay? Then, I can go to this image, right click. Paste as a new layer. If I paste this as a new layer, then we get the movement tool. So, I can paste this layer on top anywhere I want. So, if I wanted to take this logo and put it over the top of this image, I could put it in. And, you can see how that is another layer. And, when I left click, twice, it will leave that layer. And then, there's that layer. Then, what I can do is take these layers, merge them. And then, that becomes a new image. See that is permanently a part of that image now. And, that's just a little bit about what you can do with Paint Shop Pro."
