"Mike Purdy here for Expert Village and we're talking about Paint Shop Pro. And, one of the problems you will encounter if you scan an image from a newspaper or other printed material, is the little pixels, the little dots that are needed to produce a printed image. When you want to use those in a video or if you just want to print them in another form, they can become rather annoying. Another problem is called "Moire" or "More-a". When you have two different resolutions stacked on top of another. I don't know if you can see this example very well but what I'm going to do is zoom in a little bit and this makes it very apparent that we're getting this pattern and especially in this area here. This is actually a parrot's wing and you can clearly see this pattern in here. We can get rid of this very easily by going to effects, enhance photo, and pattern removal-want Moire pattern removal. You can see that even on the pre-set here it's gone from this to this, it's reduced it. Click on OK, and there you go. And there are further adjustments you can make to get rid of most of it. And also, when you have patterning due to scanning from a printed piece of material, like if you have a scan from a newspaper or a scan from a magazine and it can greatly reduce that. Moire removal is very, very handy feature of Paint Shop Pro and I use it quite a bit."
