"Hi! I'm Mike Purdy for Expert Village and I do video editing and very often need to process still images. My program of choice for this is Paint Shop Pro. I use Version 7 here and there are a couple of reasons why I like Paint Shop Pro and the main reason is it comes on a disc; at least Version 7 did and its not that picky about what computer you install it on. I've been able to install it on every computer I've come across whenever I need a piece of photo editing software and it doesn't keep accessing the web asking me for information in trying to determine if I am the rightful owner of the program. I bought it back in the day when you could do that. You could buy it on a disc, you would own it and you could use it for whatever purpose you wanted to so I've installed it on several computers and I only use it on one at a time. That is one of the main advantages of this program. Now I don't know if you can still get it on a disc but if you can look for the original Paint Shop Pro 7 Disc and you will probably have the same result as I have had. I'm not sure if that will work with Windows Vista or not but it works with Windows X-Speed. Another thing that I seem to love about Paint Shop Pro is that it seems to be a very compacat program. It was written back in the days when we had much less memory available in processing power available and it has never bogged down my computer. It is one of those programs that seems to work on everything and it doesn't load the system down so much that I can't be doing something else at the same time and I like to run through my monitor so very often I am editing a photo on one monitor and I am doing video editing or accessing the web or something on the other monitor and so even with fairly fast processors, I don't have the problem of bogging down like I do with some of the programs that just keep getting bigger and bigger. Today we are going to talk about Paint Shop Pro 7 and what you can do with it and it is basically a 101 introductory course on Paint Shop Pro and I will go through it very slowly and so hopefully after watching these clips, you will be able to put Paint Shop Pro work for you and maybe it will become one of your favorite programs for you.
