"Hi! I’m Ross. Thanks for coming to expertvillage.com, let’s begin. What if you don’t like your system tray taking up so much space on your task bar? Here is the system tray or what sometimes is referred to as the notification area. That is taking up quite a bit of space and I don’t really need to see all those icons. So, what you can do is right click, go to properties, and with the task bar tab up front you can go down to the bottom section here. You can show the clock, but you can also hide inactive icons, and click OK. Now, what you see, they shrunk back and there’s a little arrow here now with the tool tip saying show hidden icons. The icons are there and available for you to look at, but then you can shrink them back down. What will happen is if you click on these, they’ll show up here for a while. If you don’t use it after a while, it’ll go back into the hidden area."
