"Hi! I’m Ross. Thanks for coming to expertvillage.com, let’s begin. It’s time to get up and stretch your legs; it’s task bar gymnastics. What I’m going to do is show you many things that you can do with the task bar. First of all, it doesn’t have to be at the bottom; it can be at the top; it can be to the side; it can be on the other side. All I’m doing is clicking with my left mouse button in an empty space and dragging it. That’s where it will be. Also, if I get too many programs open…I’ll open up windows explorer, minimize it; open up the media player and minimize that; I’ll open up quick time. You can see the task bars are getting busy down here with more and more programs. What I can do is I can go ahead, take it, and expand it up, so I can show more items down here. Did you notice, on the side where this double arrow was, there are more quick launch buttons? If lift it up, right there we have the vertical arrows, I can move it up and now I can see more. I can see more in this space and if I had more programs running I can see those. Also, if I right click on it, I can go up to tool bars and I could add the address bar down here. See where it says address? I’m going to drag it over. Look at that. I could type something in here like www.expert…and brings it up, press enter. Since it knows it’s an address, that needs to go out and use internet explorer for it, it fires up Internet Explorer, loads it up and brings the page up. Now, if I don’t want it there, I can just go up to tool bars, click it again, and it will turn it off. I can drag it back down to make it small. If I like the lay out where everything is, because I can change the width here by just dragging that bar. Now the quick launch tool bar is bigger, or I can shrink it back down depending on how I want to show. Then I can right click it, go up to lock tool bar, and the drag bars disappear. Now I can’t even drag it. I have seen it where people have called before and said, “My task bar, it’s at the left side, how did it get there?” Well, they just simply dragged it accidentally by clicking the mouse as it passed over it, and it showed up over there. But with it being locked, it doesn’t do that. "
