Windows Explorer Tutorial

"Hi! I’m Ross. Thanks for visiting expertvillage.com. What can we do with computer files? Let’s find out. Let’s talk about Windows Explorer. I will start the program by pressing down the Windows key on the keyboard. While pressing that, press in the E key, and it starts windows explorer with a navigational panel on the left and the contents on the right. There is another way to start it, and that’s pressing down with the left button on the Start, going up to my computer, right clicking, and going down to Explorer, and I’ll select that with the left button. Again, we have Windows Explorer. I want to click the plus sign on My Documents. It expands to show me the other files directly below it. If I left click on My Documents, it shows me the contents of that folder. So here is the folders immediately below it and the files within that folder. I also like to select a few other options; for instance, the view. I prefer the detailed view. In this view, I have more information and I can sort by each column, by clicking on its header name. I click again, it sorts in the opposite direction. I also like to show file name extensions, which are not showing now, and I like to show in the address bar and in the title bar, the full path name. I can do all this under Tools, Folder Options, and click on the View tab. Down here, I can see display, the full path, and the title bar. I’ll click that for yes. It already has displayed the full path in the address bar. Then here, hide extensions is check marked. I’m going to remove the check mark so it’ll no longer hide them, now click Okay. Now, I have the file name extensions here. If I click on the folder, I can see the full path in the address bar and in the title bar."
