"Alright, welcome to the after effects basic training series on Expert Village. I'm Ryan in this tutorial we're going to about how to relink to missing files and your after effects project. What we are going to do first is go ahead open a project in after effects. Let?s open this guy and after effects tells us that were missing 291 files since we last saved the project. So, that's not good news considering we may have worked on this project for months. So, what we're going to do is say "ok". And, what after effects does is creates these color bar icons for footage that is missing. What we are going to do is, you know this file is missing because it has that color bar icon on top of it. So, to help after effects find these files what we are going to do is double click one that we know is missing and then what we're going to do is go ahead and type in the name of that file and search for the reveal and there it is. So, what we're going to do is point after effects to that one file, say "ok" and let a after effects go to work . What's going to happen here is once after effects finds this particular file that is we know is missing we hope that finding will also help to find other missing files. And, actually it did. Now 284 previous missing items have been found That's great news. But, there are still some files missing. What we are going to need to do with those is actually individually find those files using the same method."
