Summary: How to work with tabs in Internet Explorer and Firefox; learn more about web browsers in this free instructional video.
"Hi! I'm Gary for Expert Village. Now let's see how to work with tabs in Internet Explorer. Tabs is a very nice option. What it is within the window that we have open, we create these little tabs that are basically new browsing windows. So in order to create a new tab, what you can do is click control T, t for tab and you will see a new window tries to open up but it doesn't have a web page. It is waiting for you to put in the web address that you want to go to. So you can type in any web page that you want and you will see then hitting a low button, you will see that it goes to that page. Another way to open up a tab is to click on the little box next to the tab that we have opened up already and you will see when the cursor is over, it says create tab. We click on that and the same thing happens. Basically it says connecting and tells us that you've opened up a new tab and it is waiting for us to put in a web address for us to go. So we will type in a different web address and we will see that within the same window of Internet Explorer, we have two web pages opened; one on each tab. If we want to control the way tabs works, go to tools and Internet Options and we see that on the general tab we have a settings button and we see that over there we can change any kind of settings that enable out tabs feature. We can even turn tabs on and off. So if we take the check mark out of the top box which says enable tabs, then we will basically turn off this feature of being able to create tabs within the web page. There is another feature that we have while all our tabs are open. Sometimes we either lose our connection to the Internet or sometimes a page is trying to refresh and it is not able to load so what we can do is go up to our tabs and we can right click and we will get an option to refresh all tabs. Once we click that, we will see that all the tabs that we have opened is actually now reloading to refresh the pages. Not just the tab that we clicked on, but all the tabs that we have open in the window. "
