Summary: How to create a presentation in Microsoft PowerPoint; learn more about making digital presentations in this free instructional video.
"Hi! I'm Gary for Expert Village. Now let's create a presentation from scratch. The first we want to do is click on file and new. And we have over here on the right side of our screen, we have different options of what kind of presentations to create. We are going to click a blank presentation and by default it gives us one slide as it appears here on the left side in our slide view. And we have in the middle of our screen, the actual slide that we can go ahead and edit. On the right hand side, we have a layout menu which let's us click on different types of options. Right now the layout that is selected is the large title with another text box for a subtitle. If we go ahead and click on this layout, we are going to see that the screen will change to a title. Instead of just a little text box for a subtitle, we are going to have two text boxes and we are going to have the option to put bullets, different types of points that we might want to express in this presentation slide. So if we go ahead and click it, we see that our view changed. We still have the title. We still have two text boxes over here that we can start adding in bullet items. So depending on what we want, usually the first text anyway is the heading, the title of the presentation and maybe a small line that will show who it was done by. So we don't really need too much. I am going to go back and select original option of the title and the subtitle. Before I get started, I am going to just shape the format, the view a little bit here. If it is going to be a title, then I am going to want to move it up a little bit. I go ahead and click on it and I see that we have the edit envelope and we go ahead when our cursor goes up towards the outline of the envelope, we see that it changes to a four arrow cursor and that means that we can move this box in any direction that we want. So we go ahead and click on it and I am going to drag it out and place it a little bit higher and now it looks like a real title or heading. I am going to put in the text sample presentation. Over here I am going to put in this text box where it says to click to add subtitle. Also, I am going to just move it up a drop and put it over here. Created by Joe Smith and if I wanted, I could keep putting text just by hitting the enter key but I am going to leave like that. This is going to be my first slide. "
