"Hi! I'm Gary for expertvillage. Today I am going to show you how to use Microsoft PowerPoint. The first thing I want to do is just show you what PowerPoint is. The PowerPoint program creates a slide show presentation that could either help in as a visual aid to a physical live presentation having a speaker stand up and giving a talk or it can be a stand alone file that can be sent either in an e-mail or just post it on website that can actually run by itself as a slide presentation with different images or text that information. Like here we see the first slide of a presentation, a PowerPoint presentation, which shows you to get started using PowerPoint and this is still within a program so the presentation isn't live, it's not as it would be shown in full view. But we see all the individual slides here on the side. We see them change these. All these slides could be edited and created and the individual slides make up a slide show presentation. So this could either be sent to someone to get an introduction on what PowerPoint is or it could be used as a visual aid if someone was giving a presentation on how to use PowerPoint. But that is what PowerPoint the program really does. It helps us create these presentation and I could show you the different types of presentation. Here we see slides being made up of different photographs and again, this would be sent to music and to an individual file and people can see a nice change of slides of all these different views. These mountain views or it could be given again as a visual aid to a live presentation where someone is talking about each of these locations and actual see a picture in front of you. So either way however you use it, PowerPoint is very useful program and I am going to show you how to get the most out of its features today."
