"Hey everybody, my name is Matt and I am speaking to you on behalf of Expert Village. There is three ways to actually play music in garage band. You can go up to window and click keyboard and it says grand piano here and it corresponds to the track you have over here. If you have other tracks, you could click on the different tracks and change the instrument but by default you will have a grand piano. Here you can hit the different keys. If you hit those with your mouse, you can see it actually makes the note on the keyboard. So you can make music here. It is kind of hard to do that when you are recording. Ideally you will have an external instrument which you can plug in either by a midi or USB cable. I have a key station plugged in right now. It's just a little keyboard and as you can see, I can hit the keys on that and it will actually show up in my keyboard here. Alternately if you don't have an external hardware to play on, you can go up to window and click musical typing and what this basically does is it turns your keyboard into actually a musical keyboard. You can click there and make notes and you can also use the keyboard with your computer. As you can see, you can also control the octave, you can up and down an octave and you can change the velocity over here. You can also change the modulation so you can also do that on your external keyboard more easily. Like I said if you don't have an external keyboard you can actually make some pretty good music with your computer keyboard."
