"Hey everybody, my name is Matt and I am speaking to you on behalf of Expert Village. Alright, when you first start up garage band, you are going to be presented with a splash screen that looks like this. What you are going to do first is just create a new project. You do this by just clicking new music project. If you've got a project that you are already working on, you can click existing project. You can also click new movie score or new broadcast episode but we will get into those a little bit later. But for now we are going to click new music project and you are going to be presented with this. You are going to want to give your project a name. I'm going to name mine, new project and below that it will say where and you can choose where. Your file is going to be saved but I am going to leave it on the garage band folder; this is the default. You can change the tempo of your project here. You can change the timing. We are going to leave it on 4-4's most of the time. We can also choose the key and can change whether it is a major or minor. When you are happy with that, click create and garage band is going to start up and look like this. If it ain't time and you want to change some of the settings that we just chose or you can change the tempo by clicking here and dragging that up and down or you can go over here and click the little icon and if you click master track, you will see at the bottom and you can also change the tempo here and change the timing. You can also change the key which we just set when we set the new project. "
