"Hi everybody my name is Matt and I'm speaking to you on behalf of Expert Village. If you want to go ahead and open azureus and click on advance if your not already there your going to see a lot of information going on here and I'm going to help you understand what exactly is going on here. On the left side your going to see the name of the torrent your downloading and then you'll see to the right of that this is pretty much the default of what you see here. You can set it to different things but over here you see the size, that's the total size of the torrent your downloading you can see how much you downloaded, the percentage that is done, you see status, whether it's downloading, whether it's stop or cued up. Over here to the very right you'll see the download speed your downloading at, the upload speed that your uploading to other people at, you'll also see what's called seeds and piers, this is very important and understanding exactly how azureus works. Seeds are basically the number of people who have the entire torrent downloaded themselves, although files from the torrent downloaded in this case at the top of this one 20 people have it totally downloaded, over here you'll see what is called piers, piers are also sometimes called leashes or lechers, over here it says I have 29 piers, and that means they're are 29 other people out there like me who are downloading the files. So I'm downloading from 20 people who have the entire file downloaded and also from 28 other people who have the files partially downloaded if you see over here I'm downloading at 66 kilo bites per second, but I'm also uploading at about 39 for kilo bites per second. This is because you do not have to have the entire torrent downloaded in order upload. This is the beauty of bit torrent is that while your downloading your also uploading to other people, down here at the bottom I've downloaded all these files I'm also uploading which means that am a seed and I'm helping to upload to other people. I hope this helps you understand exactly how bit torrent is starting to work. One other thing I wanted to show you is if right click on a file and click show details, it will give you a lot more information there's a whole lot of information you can see, if you click files you can see all the files that your downloading."
