Bit Torrents is a peer-to-peer file sharing communications protocol first introduced by Bram Cohen in 2001. Instead of using the original distributors bandwidth and hosting all the time, bit torrent protocol shares data with new recipients, which is then used to interface with the next recipient, thus alleviating the cost and pressure on the original distributor. For those who don't know what bit torrent is it is a pier to pier file sharing software. Maybe you've used file sharing software before such as lime wire, or bear share or even napster but bit torrent works a little bit different than these other types of software and I'll get into that a little bit later. One of the main advantages there is for downloading files music in particular with bit torrent is that you can download of multiple files much more easier with bit torrent. In a lot of cases you can download them more quickly. Say you want to download an entire album instead of just a song you find the bit torrent file open it up and everything will start automatically downloading for you so you don't have to search out each particular song.
