Overlay Options in iStopMotion

"iStopMotion is a registered trademark of Boinx software, and I am in no way affiliated with Boinx software. In this clip, I'm going to be teaching you about the overlay function in iStopMotion. You want to make sure that the view tab is selected at the bottom right and come up and bring down the options for overlay here. You've got a couple of options. Down here at the bottom, it says mark areas. You've got your action safe and your title safe. If you turn on these, it's going to add some margins in your preview. You should try and keep your action within the action safe margin. If you add titles, captions, or anything later on, you should keep that within the title safe. I'm going to turn these back off and turn on my show aspect ratio. What that's going to do is it's going to give me black boxes at the top and bottom or my preview. You can change the opacity of this. You can also change the width and height. In most cases, you're just going to use the 16x9. It should be noted that none of these are actually going to be rendered out when you export your movie. They're just so you can know where your action should be and in the case of the aspect ratio. Like I said, it's not going to be rendered out, but in case you want to go to this aspect ratio later, you can just use these as a reference. That's how you use the overlay function in iStopMotion."
