"This is Kyle with Expert Village talking about layout preferences and Premiere. Now one of the things when you are doing your layout is you go to your title, your window and your work space and you've got your HD work space, click on that if you are doing HD work. If you want, you can try and go to your standard editing format. That is probably the most common. You have your monitor on the top right, you've got your effects window in the middle, you've got your time line at the bottom but they also have a couple of other options. One that I like to use a lot is if you go up there to your window, you have your project box, you've got your tool bar on the left so you want to keep all these things where it is easy for you to find and usually when you get comfortable with something, you will want to continue to use it that way. Here is the effects but now you go to your window. Now you may want to go down and use your audio and I do this a lot of times just to make sure that my audio is basically there. So you can type on there and you can hit the bar of the time line and you can see your audio levels on the far left. That way you know if you are peeking and need to bring it up. Premiere has a great audio program. I am not going to go in it too much just because it is so extensive. "
