"This is Kyle with Expert Village and we are talking about some preferences and setting on Adobe Premiere Pro. Now on your front page if you want to go ahead and go in, we are just going to open a file here just as an example. Now this is an important part. Each time that you start a project, you want to make sure that all the settings are correct. We did one project one time where it was an extensive project and one of the preferences were off. So go to the edit menu, go down to preferences and you need to go through each and everyone of these just to make sure. Some of these are pretty basic if you have done editing for any amount of time but I am going to go through them for the basics. This is just a visual thing. If you prefer the screen to be a little brighter or a little darker; it depends on your eyesight and what you are comfortable with if you like editing in the darkness. I am just going to set it a little bit off centered. Now what you want to check this. You pre-roll on your transitions. Usually you don't want up too many frames. That's 30 frames so that is about 1 second and it is also 1 second on the audio. I typically leave it with that. It's kind of a default type setting. "
