Summary: How to set the frame length in Adobe Image Ready; learn more about photo and image editing software in this free instructional video.
"Hi, I'm Gary for Expert Village. Now that we've put the frames onto the animation time line, you can get a better idea now of what type of effect we're looking for just by looking at the pictures of each of the frames on the time line. And, the best way to describe this, it's kind of like if you've ever taken a group of little pieces of paper and wrote like a little picture on each, on each piece of paper and having it change a little bit until you get to the last page. And then kind of skim through, flip the pages very quickly and we see that the image changes, that's basically what's happening here. Now the effect that we're looking for is going to be dependent on the amount of time each frame is, the length of each frame. Just like when you're flipping through those pages, if you do it very fast or do it slower it's obviously going to have a different effect. And you want to get it just right. So, right now I'm going to show you how to manipulate the length of each frame. And right now it's set at a zero seconds which is basically just the, the shortest possible frame length and there's a button over here, a menu that by default it says 'once', so I'm going to change that to 'forever' and now forever will appear meaning that it's constantly going to repeat, the animation effect is constantly going to repeat. And the reason why I did that is because I want to show you, what, without changing any time settings, what the animation will look like and the animation will continuously run so you can get a better look at, at what we're doing. And I'm going to click the play button and we see in our window, which is really the main image what we're creating. We see the image changing, it's a bit quick, it might be the effect you're looking for, but that's basically, on the default, that's the way it's going to be set. Now of course, if there's less frames in the middle, that's also going to determine how quick the effect is going to take place. Or we could even add frames and keep it on a very, the frame length very quick. But with the additional frames it will also look a bit slower. So this is, what we need to do now is we need to change the length of our frames in order to get the desired effect."
