"Hi, this is John Carstarphen for Expert Village. Whenever you select a light or any object, these parameters properties box pops up. We have the parameters which help us determine things like intensity, how to move the light. We're going to talk about these dials in a minute and how they're used and what they're for. On the other tab, the properties tab is where you set the type of lighting that we want, whether we want Ray Trace shadows, whether we want shadows at all, whether we want the light to be animated, the size of the shadow, ambient occlusion, which we'll get into at another point. It's a type of lighting that gets very realistic, even kind of lighting feel to the scene. Diffuse IBL, again, that's something we'll talk about a little bit later. Then we have the standard spot and infinite light. Spot is more directional light, infinite light is the default light in Poser and it gives an overall wash to the scene."
