"JOHN CARSTARPHEN: Hi! This is John Carstarphen for Expert Village. The tip width parameter controls the hair's widths at their tips, and hair usually thins somewhat as it progresses from root to tip, so this number will typically be less than the root width parameter. The clumpiness parameter determines the hair's tendency to form dreadlock-like bunches. Now, one feature that's common in a lot of human hairs and a feature that separates human hair from animal fur is kink, and the kink scale parameter determines the size of hair waves and curls. So, increasing this value will increase the hair's waviness and vice versa, if you decrease this parameter, it will decrease the waviness. The kink delay parameter specifies the distance from the root at which the hair begins to curl or wave. Increasing this value increases the distance from the root, decreasing this value decreases the distance from the root."
