"JOHN CARSTARPHEN: Hi, this is John Carstarphen for Expert Village. There are no dynamics available on static figures. You have to have an animation happening in your file before any simulation can take place. And so, in this case, we have just a simple walk. The character is just doing a simple 30-frame walk with 10 frames added at the beginning for draping. And you'll see that the dress is not fitting correctly and there are all kinds of poke-through but of course, once we do--once we run the simulation that will all change. So, now that we have the dress clothified, the next thing we're going to do is click the "Collide Against" button. Here is where we determine which parts of the body actually meet the edge or the surface of the dress and we do that by clicking on the Add/Remove button and we just go down the figure and select or deselect the body parts in the hierarchy that we want to have collide with the figure. The first thing we'll do is select Figure 2 so that the body itself is recognized by the program and then we'll just go through and we'll deselect--we'll make sure--the hip, abdomen and chest. We don't need the neck. We don't need the head or the eyes."
