How to Set up an iPhone 3G WiFi Network

Video Preview

Introduction

Wifi access is one of the exciting features of the new iPhone 3G which is designed to use WiFi wherever it’s available. As befits the updated, hotter-to-trot cousin of the original iPhone--it surpassed sales of 1 million units in the first three days the device was available--WiFi is far faster than any mobile networks now in place. For iPhone users with existing WiFi service, automatic use of WiFi for data service will not only be far faster, but far cheaper: And free in many cases.

Step2
For iPhone 3G users in a school, home, or office with WiFi service, automatic use of WiFi for data will not only be far faster, but far cheaper--and even free.
Step3
With the iPhone 3G WiFi, Apple is forcing phone carriers to support a phone that will save users money. This is what industry observers say makes the iPhone 3G far more useful to far more people, as Apple is giving users a much better product.
Step4
The ability of Apple's iPhone 3G to hook up to WiFi is good news for anyone sick of paying too much for phone service. And it's likely it will increase competition in the mobile sector which will benefit everyone, not just Apple's customers.
Step5
WiFi is far faster than any mobile networks now in place, including EVDO and HSUPA (2.5 - 5.76 Mb/sec). WiFi is so much faster because it is designed to serve a much smaller range of local service.

on 7/20/2008 I think the video (very clear, of course) works best for the 35-and-under portion of the planet. Older folks very often might not understand more than half of what is said, nor exactly what the signficance is of its being said with such gusto. I know what a network is, as the term is used in contemporary parlance, but half the population would lose you right there. I recommend slowing down and revealing more of your obvious expertise.
