How to make a animated msn graphic using fireworks

Open up Macromedia Fireworks and select "Fireworks File" in the section "Create New". Then change the width to "75 pixels" and height to "50 pixels" and change the "canvas color" then press "ok".

Now you can add text or images to your first slide. Then in the left hand coloum select "Frames and History". After you have opened the " Frames and History" there are 3 icons on the bottom left of this sections, you will need to sellect the middle one "New / Duplicate Frame". This will create a new frame, add as many frames as you need in the animation.

After you have added all the content to the frames and are happy. You will need to export the graphic to do this go "file" then in the forth section select "Export Wizard.....". Now a new window should of opened in this window check "Target export format" and change the varible at the bottom to imbertween 5 - 10, then press continue. Then in the new window make sure "animated Gif" is selected then press continue.

Now a new window has opened. you will need to select "animation" in the tabs in the top left hand corner. Now in the right hand panel at the bottom you can play the animation. If the timing between slides is either to slow or to fast. You can change the timing between the slides using the text box at the top of the left hand panel. After you are happy with the animation press "export" at the very bottom right hand side and save the animation somewhere.

Now open up Msn and start a conversation. Then select the tab called "select an emotion" (this tab is represented by a smiling icon)just above the text box at the bottom. Now a new tab has opened in this one select "show all" in the "your emoticons" section. Then in the new window that has opened select "create". Then in the new window you will need to find the image you have just created and give it a name and a keyboard shortcut, then press ok. Now you have created your very own emotion.
