"BRANDON SARKIS: My name is Brandon Sarkis on behalf of Expert Village. Today I'll be showing you how to use Apple's Aperture program for the Mac. The next thing I'm going to show you, over on the left-hand side, we're going to go into a little more detail about the projects section, at the top level here. You'll see it's your library, you can click on that and it will--if you had stuff in the actual main library, it would go in. And then there's some presets here. This is all your 5-star photos, 1-star or better, rejected, then you have smart albums for--these are all the presets, smart album in the library for the year the photo was taken, things like that. Here's some that I've done myself. Smart albums for 2-star, 3-star, or 4-star photos. And the way that smart albums work is they allow you to set a criteria. For example, on this one, it's any photograph that's 4 stars. And so, whenever I add a photograph that's 4 stars to my library, no matter if it's today or a year form now, it'll automatically be found in this library. Below that, you'll notice there's a little bit of a--looks like a shoebox kinda or a photo box. That's an actual project. And so, I can click on that and see all the photos in that project. I can expand that and see that I've got an untitled book here and I've also got another book that is titled. And when you click on those, you'll notice--over here, you'll see a page layout as well as a visual representation of what the book will look like and at the bottom here, in the viewer window--the browser window, you'll see a list of all the photographs that you've chosen for that book and you can take 'em or leave 'em as you do--as you see fit. You'd also notice that once you used a photo, it shows--it marks itself as being used in there. Below that, you'll see a tab for your iPhoto library, if you've chosen to import it. I have and so, this is all photos in my iPhoto library. Let's see more projects here. This funny looking little icon over here is your--that's a light table. To start a new light table, you go the top and hit this one, this one right here, and we'll get into that in a little bit. Next to that is your new webpage or web gallery export. That's to make a new book, this one right here. This little purple is to make a new smart album, this blue one is to make a new album, and this little box is to make a new project. Go all the way down here and you can see, like your--some wedding photos, and scroll through those just like that. All right, so that's the end of the project window for now. We're going to move right along to edits."
