"My name is Brandon Sarkis on behalf of Expert Village. Today I'll be showing you some of the new features in Mac OS 10.5 Leopard. This next thing I'm going to show you is pretty advanced. You have to go into terminal and do some line command stuff to make it work. You can see here at the bottom, the dock is this weird glassy, reflective looking thing. It really bugs a lot of people, but it doesn't really bother me much. Some people find it deeply offensive. A couple of ways to get rid of it. You can go to system preferences and go to dock, which is at the top under personal. And you can hide the dock completely or you can change it to the left or right side of the screen. You'll notice when I change it to the sides of the screen, it looks different. It doesn't have that same glassy effect. Well there's a way to achieve that effect on the bottom of the screen, and I'll show you how to do that. So you close that and open up your terminal command. You can find the terminal under applications and inside the utilities folder in applications, or you can just go to spotlight and type "terminal". What we're going to type here won't mess anything up, but it's still really important to get it right. If you type it wrong it won't do anything. The first thing you want to type is "default" space "right" space "com.apple.doc" space and then you want to type "no-glass" space "-Boolean" space "YES" hit return. You're prompted with an open prompt. Next thing you want is to restart the dock to get rid of it, so type "killall" space "Dock". That's the command to restart the dock. Hit return, now watch your dock come back all nice and black, so everyone likes it now. Now if you want to fix that, if you want to change it up type the exact same thing except change one thing. So we're going to type "default" space "right" space "com.apple.doc" space "no" space "glass" space "-Boolean" space "NO". Hit return. Type "killall" space "Dock". Make sure dock is capitalized. There you go. There's your mirrored glass dock right back. It's a matter of personal preference. I'm sure it's just a matter of a couple of days to a week before someone has a piece of software that fixes that for you, but that's how you can fix it now if it really bothers you."
