Series Summary

A release from Movie Magic, EP Scheduling is a software solution that thinks like a scheduler. Based on direct input from users, scheduling versatility have become easier with EP Scheduling. With this software, you can create unlimited multiple schedules and shooting scenarios within the same file. You can also combine different boards with different calendars through drop down menus on a stripboard. With one tool you can add, delete, modify, merge and sort category information.

While EP Scheduling represents potential for a better, more modern organizational tool, like all software it can be confusing to use at first. That's where our expert comes in. In this free video series, you'll see how to schedule your own feature film or movie, as well as how to organize and input pieces of your script into EP Scheduling. You'll also see how to apply other Movie Magic software, such as Screenwriter and Final Draft Tagger, into EP Scheduling. Ultimately, your feature film schedule will be broken down and made clearer with this useful tool.

Video Transcript

"Hi! I'm Chris Cobb for Expert Village. I'm an assistant director in film and television, something I've been doing for almost 20 years. I've done if for HBO, CBS. I've done projects on most of the major studios lots in town. I was at Paramount Pictures for a while in both the film and the television divisions, and have been an AD in I don't know how many independent productions. When I first started, being an AD meant that you had to break down a script, transfer all that script information to a breakdown sheet, transfer all that information into a production board, and you did it all by hand. You wrote all the information to a breakdown sheet and then you rewrote it all onto a production board. Then you rewrote that into call sheets, production reports, schedules, etc. Well about 15 years ago, a little program came out called Movie Magic, and that changed everything. When it came out you could actually input all that information into a breakdown sheet on the computer, then create a board, create schedules, call sheets, and stuff like that off of the first breakdown, rather than having to do it over and over again. Movie Magic has since become a program called EP Scheduling, and that's what we're going to learn today. If you don't have the program, you need to go to www.entertainmentpartners.com and download the free trail. If you do have it, install it on your computer and we'll get started."
