"Hi! This is C.J. representing expertvillage.com. In this clip I am going to show you how to use the select track tool. Next is the select track tool which is the third tool down on the pallet window and as you can see as you click and hold it, it has 5 different options for you. Let's start with the default one which is the arrow pointing to the right. The select track forward tool. What this tool does is it selects all the clips on a single track that are in front of your cursor and if you notice your cursor has now turned into an arrow pointing to the right. So if I go to a clip and I click, all the clips to the right of it on that individual track has now been selected. The next tool is the select track behind tool or backwards. Now this tool does the same thing as the forward tool except that it selects everything behind. So wherever you click, all the tracks behind it gets selected on whichever individual layer. It doesn't select all the layers though. The next one basically this one selects all the clips on a single track. You just click on the track and it selects all the clips; both to the left and to the right. Then you have these double arrows. The double arrows are basically selecting all of the tracks. Not selecting all the clips though but it will select all the clips on every track that is to the side of your cursor. Like these arrows are pointing to the right so it will select all the clips to the right on all tracks. See that; all tracks. One to the left selected to the left on all tracks. It's just another great way just to select certain clips or if you need to move a whole group of clips, the double arrow is good. If you need to select just a group of clips on a single track, then the single arrow is good. "
