"Hi! This is C.J.South representing expertvillage.com. In this clip,I am going to take you through some very basic editing. So now let's run through and do some very basic editing using the pointer tool which if you go over to the tool pallet you can see it's the top one and that also is your quick key if you hit a. The a key will get you to the pointer tool. So first let's pick a clip that we want. Make sure snapping is on by the way. We are going to use snapping. Then start off with this nice little pan. Let's choose the second take; second take seems best. Just give it a little space. Go to the end point, take it to the end of it, out point and just drag it down to the time line, clip 1. Now let's go ahead and grab a second clip moving one. This is good. We will find a nice spot and there's a nice shot. So let's put in point and out point and drag that down as well. Then we will get an other clip here, another moving shot in point and out point, drag that down. Another clip so we are just going to put all moving clips together so that they at least somewhat flow. These are shots of Detroit by the way and no, it's not the glimpse glamor part. We will end off with this nice little shot into the sunset here. Beautiful. Again I know I just snapped every single clip to each other. Now I don't want any audio in here or so. You can go ahead and delete the audio. You can do that by just locking your video layer. There is a little lock tool. You can lock the video layer which I will cover later and just get rid of that. Then it will play and then it's just our shots strung together to make a nice kind of simple cut. You could put music to it if you prefer. Okay now there is little too much space right there so I am going to wait that ends and just go ahead and just use my pointer tool and just kind of shorten that. There we go. That's it. That's the basic editing. You are just sticking in the time line in sequential order."
